Progressive Argentine Tango

Prerequisite: None

Learn how to dance Argentine Tango, the internationally popular social dance which originated during the late 19th century in the suburbs of Buenos Aires. Argentine tango is danced in an embrace that can vary from very open, in which leader and follower connect at arms length, to very closed, in which the connection is chest-to-chest, or anywhere in between. In contrast to Ballroom Tango, Argentine Tango relies highly on improvisation, and a good Tango dancer is one who conveys the emotion of the music to their partner.

In this month-long beginning level class you will learn fundamental footwork and connection technique, in a fun, friendly and supportive environment.
